Saki Mizoroki

Saki Mizoroki is a doctoral student at the University of Tokyo and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Communication and Journalism, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After working as a journalist/editor/translator for a total of fourteen years, Saki decided to return to academia. Her research focuses on gender representation in Japanese media. Born and bred in Tokyo, she studied international politics and law at Sophia University in Tokyo, completing a one-year exchange program at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and then earned the Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. She has extensive journalist experiences at a traditional top-national Japanese newspaper, The Asahi, and new online media, BuzzFeed Japan. She keeps writing for a Japanese magazine as a freelancer. She is an avid ballet dancer and loves hiking in the mountains.
